Chinese memory chipmaker ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has secured a long-term supply agreement worth approximately $2.94 billion (over 20 billion yuan) with Tencent, strengthening domestic cooperation in China’s fast-growing semiconductor industry.

According to Reuters, the three-to-five-year agreement will supply DRAM chips for Tencent’s servers, supporting cloud computing, databases, and artificial intelligence workloads.

The deal comes as global demand for memory chips continues to rise, driven by rapid AI infrastructure expansion. Reuters reported that CXMT generated 50.8 billion yuan in first-quarter revenue, marking an increase of more than 700% from a year earlier.
