Key Highlights:

  • China is working with Russia at the UN to ease Middle East tensions
  • Focus on protecting the Strait of Hormuz trade route
  • Calls for a ceasefire to restore global shipping stability
  • Aims to ensure stable energy and supply chains

China has reaffirmed its commitment to stabilizing global trade routes by working with Russia to ease rising tensions in the Middle East.

During high-level discussions, Chinese officials emphasized that achieving a ceasefire is essential to restoring safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz—a critical corridor for global oil and energy shipments.

The talks come ahead of a United Nations vote focused on protecting commercial shipping in the region, highlighting China’s active role in maintaining maritime security.

By promoting diplomatic solutions, Beijing aims to reduce disruptions in energy supply chains and ensure smoother international trade flows during a period of geopolitical uncertainty.
