Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng has officially started mass production of its first robotaxi, marking a major milestone in the country’s autonomous driving sector. The vehicle is developed entirely in-house and built on the company’s GX platform.
The robotaxi features Level 4 autonomy powered by four self-developed Turing AI chips, delivering up to 3,000 TOPS of computing power.
XPeng plans to begin pilot operations in the second half of 2026. The company aims for a fully driverless commercial deployment by early 2027, strengthening its position in next-generation mobility.
