China’s Solar Panel Exports Maintain Global Leadership with Rising Global Demand

China’s solar panel exports continue to lead the world, bolstered by strong production capacity, expanding overseas markets, and rising global renewable energy demand.

In 2024, Chinese manufacturers exported about 235.9 GW of solar panels, a significant increase over 2023 export levels, with rapid growth seen in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa markets. 

According to industry data, Pakistan’s imports of Chinese modules jumped by more than 125%, underscoring China’s role in supplying affordable clean energy solutions abroad. 

Meanwhile, Chinese firms dominate the photovoltaic manufacturing supply chain, accounting for the vast majority of global solar cell and module production.
