China’s trade in services—including areas such as telecommunications, information technology, transport, and other business services—maintained solid growth in 2025, highlighting expanding economic diversification beyond goods exports.

According to the latest figures from the Ministry of Commerce, the total value of China’s services trade reached about 8.08 trillion yuan ($1.16 trillion) last year, marking a 7.4 percent year-on-year increase despite a complex global economic backdrop.

Exports of services climbed about 14.2 percent to roughly 3.63 trillion yuan, while imports rose 2.5 percent to around 4.46 trillion yuan, reflecting continued international demand for China’s service offerings.

Analysts say this performance—especially the strong growth in service exports—demonstrates China’s increasing competitiveness in knowledge-intensive sectors like telecommunications, IT, and professional services.
